Event Information

The Komen National Race is one of more than 100 5K runs/fitness walks in its signature program, the Komen Race for the Cure Series. The largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, the Komen Race Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrating breast cancer survivorship and honoring those who lost their battle against the disease.

Come hear Grammy Nominated singer Patti Austin, the daughter of a jazz trombonist and goddaughter of musical legends Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington. She made her stage debut with Washington at the world-famous Apollo and is best known for her chart-topping hit "Baby Come To Me," a now classic duet with James Ingram. Race registration is required - come enjoy songs from her new Avant Gershwin release.

Metro will open at 5:00 am on Race Day!

Avoid the long lines at Metro fare card machines on Race morning! Get a $6.50 one-day pass of unlimited rides starting at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Passes are available online at www.metroopensdoors.com and from fare card machines at any Metro station.

Pre/Post Race Celebration: take Orange or Blue Line to Federal Center SW, Green or Yellow Line to Archives (Navy Memorial), Red Line to Judiciary Square
