Circle of Promise
campaign and the
Komen National Race for the Cure®
as the Community Leadership Chair.
The Links, Incorporated will promote
Circle of Promise
to local communities
by working with Susan G. Komen
for the Cure®, the Komen National Race
for the Cure®,
and the Komen on the
Go™ mobile trailer.
They will mobilize to
reach and teach African
American communities
about proper breast health care
in an effort to
eliminate the disproportionate number of
lives lost to breast cancer.

Mayor Fenty Registers for the
Komen National Race for the Cure!
Washington, DC Mayor Adrian M. Fenty kicked off registration for the 19th Annual Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure at the Washington Cancer Institute at Washington Hospital Center on March 24, 2008. Surrounded by breast cancer survivors, the Mayor donned his Race
t-shirt and declared that he will field a mayoral race team to compete in the Race on June 7th. On behalf of Komen for the Cure, Fenty announced $3.3 million in grants had been awarded for breast health programs in and around the DC area. Click here for the full press release.
